The healthcare sector, encompassing primary care, has a substantial environmental impact, and it is imperative to address the associated carbon footprint to mitigate global carbon emissions effectively.

Following a preliminary study that assessed the carbon footprint of ten primary care practices over the course of 2018, a set of recommendations has been proposed. These recommendations have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a factor of ten without necessitating significant alterations to medical activities.
